Mead Area Community Foundation Announces Challenge for Historic Highlandlake Church

The Mead Area Community Foundation made a $500 contribution to The Historic Highlandlake Church restoration campaign today and offered to match future gifts up to $1,500.

“It is our hope to foster greater giving and volunteering for projects in our community and the Highlandlake Church is and has been for many years, the heart of our community,” Dixie Olson, Mead Area Community Foundation board chairperson said.  “This is such a worthy project for our community and the people who have lived here, are living here now, and will be here in years to come.”

The Historic Highlandlake Church building was severely damaged in last March’s snow storm. The restoration project includes stabilizing and repairing the building’s foundation as well as extensive repair and restoration of the building’s interior. Total estimated cost of the project will be upwards of $200,000.00.

Mead Area Community Foundation board members include Olson and her husband, Roger, Karen and Nick Sekich, Kathy Hamlin, Dominick Sekich, Larry Jensen, Pauli Smith, Gary Olson, Cevin Hopp, Jana Fetcenko and Bill and Diane Voigt.  To make a contribution to the Historic Highlandlake Church campaign or for more information contact any board member or The Longmont Community Foundation at 303.678.6555 or go to the Mead Area Community Foundation website at www.meadfoundation.org
