William "Bill" Jay Doke

Feb. 6., 1918 - Nov. 20, 2004

William "Bill" Jay Doke of Sun Lakes, Ariz., died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004. He was 86.

He was born Feb. 6, 1918 in Longmont.

Mr. Doke farmed in the Mead area and was manager of Mountain View Cemetery from 1972 until retirement in 1987.

He was a member of the Elks Club and the Masons in Longmont as well as an active member of The Neighbors Who Care program in Sun Lakes.

Mr. Doke has many interests in life including gardening, golf, fishing and tinkering in his workshop. He also enjoyed family gatherings with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He will be remembered as a devoted friend to many.

Mr. Doke is survived by his wife Vivienne of 62 years; four children, James J. Doke of Mead, Jennifer Webb of El Macero, Calif., Janet Doke Pacello of Strasburg, Colo., and Julianne Doke Ulatowski of Sedona, Ariz; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was cremated in Arizona. In the spring, his remains will be returned to Colorado for a graveside services and a celebration of life.
